When it comes to my Branding process I follow the same process for each client project.
My client completes a Design Brief. This brief collects information regarding their business and the vision they have for their business. This allows me to understand what makes my client’s business unique. What stands their business apart from their competitors.
Once I have the completed brief, I review the information. I then research target audiences, ideal clients and of course – their competitors, is then completed!
Once the research has been completed, I then create a mood board. The mood board outlines the proposed colour palette and the vibe I visualise for their business. Once approval is received, I then start sketching out potential concepts. When sketching concepts, there are a number of stages I go through. The purpose of these stages is to remove ineffective concepts and develop and refine working concepts.
Once the working concepts have been created, they are then presented to my client for review. The timeline for the above process can be between 3 – 4 weeks.
Finalisation
Time is dedicated to each stage, to ensure the best possible outcome for your branding and design project. Creativity on a project can ebb and flow, due to a number of factors. Therefore the branding process needs to be very fluid! As a designer you need to listen to that ebb and flow on a project. This ensures that when the creativity is running full steam ahead you harness it!
Once feedback has been received from my client, I then complete the final revisions on the designs.
Website Design Process
The process for website design is very similar. After completing research, I then create a visual mockup of the proposed website design. I place images and copy (if I have it) in a visual layout of my client’s website. I then send the visual mockup to my client for review.
Once I have their feedback, I then complete their revisions and move onto prototyping the website. The prototype enables my client to experience an interactive version of their website. Once the prototype has been approved we then move into building the actual website! YAY!
Provision of a visual mockup and a website prototype, makes altering the website much easier. Changes on a visual mockup can be completed simply. Making changes during a website build, which can involve large amounts of coding changes.
Regardless of the project I am completing, my design processes all include multiple collaborative touch points. This allows my clients to always be able to express their opinions/concerns/revisions throughout the entire process.
If you have any questions regarding my branding process, please feel free to send me an email. I am always happy to answer questions! If you are currently looking at having branding or a website designed feel free to view my Branding Packages.
